Both stories deal with smaller problems in their individual pairs, but find that it's all just part of a much bigger conspiracy that may be too much for them to handle.at least not alone, or with their usual methods. In each anime, the higher-ranking person are also armed with a highly destructive technologically advanced gun that shoots a projectile beam of light, capable of incapacitating or obliterating their partner-but mainly used for only dangerous threats. Both anime have teams of usually two, which consists of a higher-ranking person who oversees the other who handles the dirty work. Both stories consists of characters that are forced to deal with a certain problem densely woven into their everyday normal lives in a near-futuristic society, which is as common as breathing air. Psycho-Pass and Plastic Memories shares several similarities. This show follows a student who is roped into a group who rebels against the fate of their inevitable disappearance of fading from fulfillment. That is because everyone is already dead and the schoolground they reside in is limbo. However, teachers are not present, nor much else. The androids within the facility are no exception.Īngel Beats takes place in schoolgrounds. This show follows a retrieval employee tasked at working with androids to retrieve others at the end of their lifespan. The company who makes the androids are designated at retrieving them before their lifespan ends. As such, you can consider these androids humans with a predetermined lifespan of 8 years. Androids that are so human, that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Plastic Memories focuses on the idea of androids in society.
As such, both explore the challenges that come from this in their own way. More specifically, preparing oneself for disappearing from the world. Both shows are grounded on the premise of inevitable death.
